The BBC has published an article on the health treatment of veterans coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan, which has been labeled as a disgrace by ex-servicemen and women. In particular, the problems highlighted are insufficient resources for mental illnesses like depression and post traumatic stress disorder. Similarly in the U.S. newly elect President Obama has also promised health reforms for veterans in his election campaign. I personally think that it is disrespectful that these people who have sacrificed themselves for their country should be left to rot after their return. After these soldiers have fought and risked their lives for the “war on freedom”, the government just abandonned them because they have finished serving their cause. These people deserves better from the health system.
